Rise of the Ronin field manual
Rise of the Ronin Wiki
Learn Counterspark, build Ten-Chi-Jin coverage on your main weapon, raise the bonds that teach real styles, and steer Bakumatsu politics without treating the open world like a blind checklist.
A combat wiki first
Win the Ki fight, then vote with your missions.
Rise of the Ronin is Team NINJA’s open-world action RPG set in war-torn 1860s Japan. You are a Veiled Edge ronin who can support anti-shogunate, pro-shogunate, or Western-aligned forces—and the combat system expects you to switch martial schools as often as you switch loyalties.
This independent wiki focuses on the decisions that change runs: which weapon you actually master, how Counterspark and style colors strip maximum Ki, which bonds teach your Martial Skills, and how faction votes shape endings. Numbers and names come from official materials and cross-checked player references; nothing here is a fake tier oracle.
Use the route board when you need a next action. Open the combat pages when a boss feels unfair. Open the bonds and karma pages when the story asks who you are willing to kill for.
What separates a clear from a struggle
Counterspark, style color, and bonds are one system.
Players who only upgrade attack numbers eventually hit a wall. Players who learn to identify enemy weapon classes, swap Ten/Chi/Jin styles, and Counterspark on the advantageous color keep peeling maximum Ki until bosses collapse. Martial Skills then spend that advantage instead of praying through full-Ki armor.
Bonds feed the same loop by teaching styles and opening partners. Political choices feed the long game by changing who still stands beside you when the map runs out of easy answers. Treat all three layers as one field manual.

Bonds worth ranking
These bond records highlight companions and historical figures who most often change a run—either by teaching combat styles, reframing faction choices, or anchoring the Veiled Edge fantasy. Use them with the bonds guide, not as a spoiler script.
